Colin Edwards, Cal Crutchlow look forward to Iveco TT Assen Grand Prix – MotoGP news
Monster Yamaha Tech3 riders Cal Crutchlow and Colin Edwards will see the seventh 2011 MotoGP event, the Iveco TT Assen Grand Prix to get back on track and finish the race with some points.
The sole British rider in premier class will make his comeback at the Dutch TT event this Saturday. The preparations will unconventionally start on Thursday rather than Friday.
Crutchlow suffered a fractured collarbone during a free practice session for his home ground event at Silverstone. He hammered his shoulder into asphalt and sustained a five-point fracture from the crash.
Monster Yamaha Tech3 rider, Cal Crutchlow said, “Assen is another track that I know from my time in World Superbikes, but I will have to see how my shoulder is doing on the bike and go from there. It is Yamaha's 50th anniversary and I will do my best to
be there and support them.”
Since his last operation at the Royal Derby Hospital, he has worked hard to improve his physical ability and regain his arm strength. The Brit rider has displayed outstanding courage to rehabilitate from a bad fracture. The 25-year-old Tech3 rider is determined
to make his comeback at the Dutch event.
Colin Edwards scored his first podium of the 2011 season with the Tech3 machine at Silverstone. He rode his satellite M1 with courage and determination. The American veteran was stunningly fast and smooth to earn a well-deserved third place on the British
podium.
Monster Yamaha Tech3 rider, Colin Edwards said, “I am really looking forward to Assen because I love the track. It is not the old Assen of a few years back, but there are still plenty of sections of the track that are awesome on a MotoGP bike. It's fair
to say I've got some history at Assen.”
Edwards recalled his podium finish of 2005 and 2008 at the Dutch venue, with an unfortunate incident in 2006. He declared to be confident than ever to head to Assen, Netherlands.
