Colin Edwards says they just had bad luck at the Aragon circuit – MotoGP news
Colin Edwards of NGM Mobile Forward Racing faced issues with his bike, at the Spanish Grand Prix, however he managed to make it to the finish line with a broken bike.
He had made it to the 15th position but the unfortunate issue with his bike dropped him to the last position when he finished the race.
The NGM Mobile Forward Racing rider told that they decided to install hard front tyre although they had not tested them over the weekend due to the wet circuit and the decision went in their favour. He made it to the 15th position during the race and was
pushing hard on the circuit.
Edward said, “Right before we went out we decided to go with the hard tire, which we hadn’t used all weekend, we used it during the test. We didn’t know what was going to happen and as it turns out, using the hard tire in the front was the right choice.”
The American rider further told that he was able to start the race impressively and the hard tyre made it possible for him to achieve high speed over the circuit. With his impressive speed he managed to get close to Michele Pirro of San Carlo Honda Gresini.
He tried to push further but was unable to get to the riders who were further ahead. At that time his shift lever broke however he managed to make it to the finish line so he may get some championship points.
“The shift lever broke and I decided to finish the last lap to see if we could get some points. Thanks to my team, we worked a lot this weekend, we just got bad luck,” he added.
Edwards finished the Spanish GP at the 18th position, he was one lap short. He started the Spanish GP at 17th gird. He finished the Italian Grand Prix at the 11thposition after starting at the 20th grid.
The NGM Mobile Forward Racing rider has a record of exhibiting impressive performances during the race after qualifying at ordinary positions. Let’s see how the American rider performs at the upcoming Japanese Grand Prix.
