Colin Lloyd as the next darts champion

All former darts champions, accompanied with television pundits, are busy in declaring their version of the championship and the player they intend to see as lifting the trophy this time.
In a situation when all are busy praising their favourites and hot favourites for the mega event, there is a certain segment that can prominently be viewed as being dedicated to chant for Colin Lloyd.
Nicknamed as the Jaws, Colin has enjoyed the former number one position. This position was further strengthened by his victory in the 2004 World Grand Prix and 2005 World Matchplay.
It was during this time when Colin enjoyed the peak of his career and it was perfectly commendable for a player who had started to throw darts from 1999.
Within a passage of six years, he was able to register himself among the best darts players of all time.
After remaining the top seed for approximately two years, his tremendous form dipped slightly. That made him second best for the 2006 World Championship.

The very first match of the championship sent shockwaves at the venue when former number one and second best contender of the tournament experienced defeat from an amateur, Gary Welding.
Little had Colin known that it was indeed just the beginning of the career slump he was about to go through.
His worst fears were confirmed when, after qualifying for the International Darts League held in Netherlands in 2006, he had to face defeat from native Raymond van Barneveld.
It was just the beginning. The very same year Colin had to suffer a humiliating 2-11 defeat at the hands of Phil Taylor at the UK Open.
After the match was over, a key area of discussion was regarding Colin’s deteriorating form and the constant alleviation of his fan club.
Experts have pointed out a couple of reasons due to which Colin has not been able to perform well.
The most important out of all is that he is currently experiencing a lack of confidence in his personality.
He needs to concentrate on getting his rhythm and earlier momentum back but above all it is important for him to reinstate and replenish his reserves of confidence and determination.
It is quite probable that he might have lost grip once he thought that he has it all. However, constant and humiliating defeats have done nothing but to tint to his credibility level.
In such a situation all he needs is to concentrate on his game.
He needs to invest maximum time to ensure that he has the perfect attack, he has the jaws that rip and tear his opponents into shreds once they get hold of him.
Apart from this, there is another reason why others should fear this shark of darts.
It is merely because of a simple fact that he has nothing to lose at this point of time. All his opponents believe that he is an easy hurdle to pass through.
He is the victim of all negative publicity that can take place on television, internet and social media. In short, he is the suicide bomber who can explode any time.
He can be vulnerable to defeat but he is equally dangerous to cause defeat. It is, therefore, important for Colin at this stage of time to demonstrate his lethal tendencies as it is more or less a do or die situation for him.
