"Ken provided more opportunities for top players to compete around the world, while Colin took advantage of these opportunities and set an unmatched standard of prolonged excellence on The European Tour".
PGA Tour Commissioner, Tim Finchem said that Montgomerie and Schofield have been a rare blessing for golf with their influence and dedication to the sport. He added that the two famous personalities deserved to be elected in the Hall of Fame.
