  1. Yes he does deserve it.  Not only did he have to spend two years in prison, he had to go through the ordeal of being fitted up, the trial and even when aquited, will still have the finger pointed at him.  His life has been ruined and he is so well known that he will never be able to live a 'normal' life again.

  2. Yes he had to spend time in prison due to be wrongly accused of murder.  Ok so he is a bit odd, but no one deserves to be fitted up for someone's murder because their face doesnt fit

Mrs GC - Soldiers choose to be in the Army fully knowing the risks involved, no one chooses to be accused of murder.  I dont think the two things can be compared

There will be people who will always say no smoke without any fire towards him, and he should have never been jailed in the first place.

No I'm not saying they should expect to be crapped on by the MoD, but I dont see how someone accused of something he never did and an injured soldier can be compared

  3. Yes why not. He spent time in jail and has had his name dragged through the mud.

  4. for 2 years of his life?

I think it's outrageous he got that much

Last year a permanently brain damaged soldier who will require care for the rest of his life received £114,000

Another one who lost both his legs and an arm from a roadside bomb received just over £200,000

    Where's the justice in that?

oh right so people in the forces should expect to be **** on by the MOD when it comes to looking after them for a change?

This guy was cleared of any involvement, he can move on with his life eventually

the guy what was permanently brain damaged will NEVER move on

  5. Yes and more - he was fitted up by the police and they have had to admit it - what more do you want?!!

  6. If he was actually put in prison and then later let out and cleared of the murder then i believe he does deserve the money. How would you feel if you where wrongly convicted of something and sent to prison. All those years in a place you are not a custom to aswell as the fact that you will never get those years back you lost. :)

  7. Oh god ..... who set Mrs GC off ;)

  8. And a h**l of a lot more. Another innocent banged up on a trumped up charge !

  9. No - he was only in jail for 13 months.

How much do reckon Barry George will get then? He spent 8 yrs in jail!

  10. Barry George got nearly a million. Prison is the place to go if you are innocent as the compensation is amoung the highest rate.

  11. I have to say I object to these compensation payments usually but this guy's life has been ruined, as he was innocent, yes he was truly harrassed and he deserves it.

  12. Certainly, anyone falsely accused or imprisoned for a crime that they didn't commit should be given plenty of compensation.  Imagine the stigma of being accused of murder and then having to try and clear your name whilst the real criminal is out there getting on with his life.  Perhaps this will teach the police force and criminal justice system to get the right person - this happens to often.
