Collect mail from sorting office?

I have an iPod touch in the post but i cant wait for it!! can i go to the sorting office (just down the road) and ask for it there??

  1. The short answer is, No, you cannot !

    The only way the Post Office will release undelivered mail is if they have already tried to deliver it, there's been no-one to receive it, and it's been taken back to the sorting office. In that case, the Postman would leave a card, which you must produce to collect the goods.

    Sorry about that.


  2. Don't waste your time.  Until the mail is delivered to your house, it is in effect the property of the Royal Mail.  They don't know you from Adam and are very unlikely to hand over mail to you - even with a passport etc.
