Collecting cans????????

What if i collect pop cans and give them to those people who reuse them how much would they pay me per can? I live in Vancouver WA so who knows where it's located at?

  1. Look in your telephone book under recycling.

    Most recycling centers pay by the pound, not by the can.


  2. You need to go to your local recycling center and ask questions there.  Try looking in your phone book under recycling.

  3. It takes an awful lot of cans to make any kind of money from them and most recycling places will not pay you for each can.  

    They pay by the pound (an average bag that you put in a trash can <like those big black plastic trash bags that people put out to the curb> will usually only net you about $20, if you're lucky.  The cans also have to be clean and you can crush them, but the price a recycler will pay changes from day to day.

    You would be doing good to the environment to help clean up by collecting cans or even plastic like the plastic Coke bottles, but as I said, there is little profit in it.  You should call your local Recycling Center for more information.
