Is there a difference between Early Action and Early Decision?

If so, what is it?

Early action means you apply early and will find out before most applicants if you are accepted.  Early decision means that you apply early and if you are accepted you must attend that school.  Early decision should only be used if you are 100% positive that you want to attend that school and have the money to afford it as you don't have the option of seeing what financial aid you'll receive prior to being accepted.
