I would like to take a few art classes (i.e. Inter. Drawing I, Painting I, and/or Sculpture) at a small local college (Mount San Jacinto College), and I'm wondering what was you experience with the classes; positive, helpful? What approx. were the cost of supplies? Also I am only a junior in highschool, do you think an average college art class would be too advanced?

  1. Hi.  I would guess that the intro level classes that you're talking about would not be too advanced.  I think it's a great idea.

Don't know what the tuition would be at that particular school.  The materials for a drawing class would probably be between $30 and $50.  For a painting class it would be much more variable depending on size and what quality of paint you're using.  But assuming student quality paint (less expensive) and not huge canvases . . . . I'd say somewhere between $200 and $400.  Don't know about sculpture because I've never taken a sculpture class.
