College Engineer student: Macbook or Macbook Pro?

I'm going to be majoring in civil engineering and I can't decide between a Macbook and a Macbook Pro. The Macbook Pro is a lot more expensive. Is there that big of a difference between the two that I'd notice being an engineering student?

I did Mechanical engineering tech, our instructor told us that a mac is garbage, go with pc.

Windows Lenovo or Dell Inspiron. Mac has unrealiable connection systems, keys, and the whole thing is just frustrating.

I'd get a pc, most engineering software won't work on a mac. The mac is a great entertainment computer but will leave you frustrated if you try and use it in any engineering field.
