Question:

College Help? Easy ten points.?

Next year (Freshmen), I will attend a local college, and I will stay at home. However, since my parents are becoming REALLY overcontrolling, I wish to transfer out second semester and attend a different college (have it picked out) where I can stay in the dorms. They are already paying for this first semester but I want to be able to pay for the second semester and all other semesters on my own (using loans, of course). I cannot depend on ANY help from my parents (signing anything even, or any extra money).

My question is, is this even possible for me? At what lengths will I have to go to achieve this? And do you know of any specific forms I will need? ANY and all advice would be great!

  1. you should really look into work and learn programs.. alot of jobs that higher college students have tution reembersments programs.. which are great because you get paid to work and part or some of your tution paid.. just ask your employer, or if you're not working. when looking for a job be sure to ask if they offer that program.. good luck you're on the right path...

  2. A's & B's.

You're parents might have a point.. if you live in the dorms.. maybe you're grades will drop.

Focus on getting A's and that should show them you are serious. it should be easier living on campus since you will have study groups and will need the resources you campus provides.

  3. I just finished up my BA, and you will quickly learn that you do everything on your own. Anyone else doing it for you, its considered an outsider to college officals. My dad called to pay my tuition and they wouldnt allow him unless I was on the phone giving legal permission. Everything in college, is you.

Just make sure your ahead of the gang... with forms and deadlines.
