College Help Please?!!!?

i took the sat once and i got a 1540 (ik its low so please dont tel me this), but i have taken 6 ap classes and my gpa is 3.8 are there any schools that cater to high gpa's but lower sats? 1o pts for the best answer!!!

Quit worrying, stressing about these situations is unnecessary. It will only cause you grief.

Focus on who you are and what you expect of yourself, not what others expect.

1540 is apparently an average SAT score, but don't let it scare you. It's just a silly test that does not properly measure ones ability to decipher material and does not properly measure ones abilities to succeed. Don't let the SAT's control your entire existence.

Anyway, there are many schools you can apply to, be sure to have some failsafe colleges to apply to just incase the big ones you want to get into do not accept you.

Worst case scenario is you get into a tier two or three school, perform amazingly in all of your courses and participate in student activities, then apply to the school of your dream.

Life does not end here.

well my situation was similar to yours i got like a 1530 on SAT , took 7 AP Classes and had a G.P.A of 3.98 and got into UCI, UCR and UCSD thats in CAlifornia I didnt apply out of state so if you dont live in cali it might not be the same

CSUs only look at your scores if you have less than a 3.0(last i checked). i got into SDSU, and probably would have gotten into SJSU with a 3.3 and a 1560

EDIT:

oh, also look into WUE it is a program that some western schools have where even if your out-of-state, you will only have to pay in-state tuition.

Yes, community college and state schools.  Don't worry!  Apply to any and all schools that interest you, but in the long run it may be a two year college or a state school that will be the ones to accept you.  That is okay.  If you have to spend a semester or two at one of these it won't be the end of the world. It can be beneficial for you. There are two upsides to attending a community college or state school.  The first is you can take your classes, keep your GPA up and this will show any schools that you want to transfer to that you have what it takes to attend their facilities.  The second advantage is that you can take many of your basics and get them out of the way and it is usually much cheaper than at other Universities.  However, having said that, with the AP classes and your GPA, I think you have a very good shot at getting into most any of the schools you apply to.  Good luck and let us know how it goes.
