College Level Sociology help?

I am taking Introduction of Sociology as a senior in high school. Anyone have any good techniques on studying. These test are usually multiple choice and a few essays and they are based on few chapters.

  1. 1.In learning any new topic, it is best to learn the vocabulary. Note the new words and their definitions, say them and write them out.

    2. Identify the concepts. Be able to give examples and non-examples. Explain them to someone else.

    3. If you have trouble, go to a source that expalins it at a lower level. I suggest the "..... for Dummies" series, I recommend them to my students and use them my self.

    4. Look for words that are similar, but different. How are klans different than tribes? Is it the degree of inter breeding ?

    5. Look for patterns.

    IE computers can be ranked by cost, by CPU speed, by computer word size, by number of simultaneous users,  etc.

    List the out in each order.

    In psychology, reinforcmetn and punchishment are easily confused.

    Do a 2 x 2 table.

    rows are addition/removal of stimulus

    columns are increases behavior/reduces behavior

                   increase       decrease

    add stim       postiive rein  respose cost

    remvoe stim    negative rein  punishment
