  1. well it depends if ur good at school

  2. First year classes aren't really that hard.

  3. Where are you going to school? Are you in honors program, liberal arts? elaborate!

  4. BE READY. Always come to class prepared, bring your textbook, notebook, pens, highlighters, and everything else you need. Remember that in college, your classes are covered in only one semester, rather than two semesters like in high school. So, the material will be taught (literally) twice as fast.

Your professors are not there to baby-sit you, they're there to teach the material and go on with their day. Each professor or teaching assistant should give you a syllabus the first day of class to let you know what will be expected of you, so you can't have any excuses later on. They will also give you a final exam schedule.

If you want to do well and not fall behind, you will need to spend at least one or two hours studying outside of class for every hour spent in class. You basically have to study twice as much to keep up with all the material.

College is hard, even just the general ed courses. Just because you did well in high school doesn't necessarily mean you will do well in college. Sometimes students will use the same study habits they had from high school...this fails miserably in college.

The best advice I can give you is to take LOTS of notes and always go to class. Showing up to class in half the battle, and it's really hard to catch up if you fall behind. You can't always rely on someone else to take good notes for you. Write down any key elements the professor points out and highlight the things he emphasizes.

A great way of studying is by rewriting or typing up your notes right after class. Read them aloud or to yourself as you're doing this to make it stick in your head. Also, make flashcards to help you study. If your professor offers study groups, go to them! They can really help. If not, try forming study groups with people who are taking the same class as you.

    Good luck!

  5. hey same here! where are you going?

  6. well depending where you gonna go and what classes are you taking all classes and teachers are different

you probably will have just like math, english, science, social studies or something like that they are just very simple

just listen, read,do and your homework and you will be fine

    good luck to you =)

  7. actually...no

I know my high school teachers made a big deal about classes being tough, but if you go to your classes everyday and do your assignments, you should be fine.  If you do find yourself struggling with a subject, go to your prof for help. He/she will see that you care about doing well.  They have a lot of students to worry about, so developing a relationship is important

  8. It's really not that hard. It's very time consuming and you have to read a lot. Time flies though

  9. Well, when I was a senior in high school I was expecting the worst, I got accepted into Southwestern. I was thinking it would be very very difficult but it wasn't. The classes were a little tough but since you are in classes for only about 4 or 5 hours a day. You have so much more time to study and do assignments. I think that my freshman year in college was easier than my senior year in highschool because I didn't have to be at school all day and only have about 4 hours to do homework and study. Good Luck!

  10. It all depends on what school you go to, what classes you'll be taking, and what your definition of hard is!!!

  11. It really depends on what you're taking. If you take an Anatomy, Chemistry, anything like that, yes it's hard. English class is easy, but ALOT of papers are due in the semester.

  12. Classes are very hard. My first semester it was easy but then I realized how unprepared I was. But don't worry about not understanding your classes there is always tutors available and group studies. All you have to do is be very committed to find out about what services are available for you just in case if you need them

    Good Luck

  13. At first it will be, it will take you time to adjust for a while.

But If you get a good start like get good grades and just be nice to all the freshies too, you'll eventually make friends too.

  14. woooo me tooo!!

  15. Here's a good article written by a college professor for incoming freshmen.  He teaches at community college, but it just as easily applies to 4-year schools.  I highly recommend reading it.
