What is it like to play division 3 college soccer? I never played high school sports so i'm not sure if i could even make the team. but i have no idea what to even expect. when do they have try outs? in the fall or before school starts or what? and how often and long are the practices? i assume it isn't like what you see in movies with people icing their whole bodies and getting the stuffing beat out of them just from working out to keep it up. Anything, experiences or ideas would help. Thanks!!

  1. Maybe shoot the coach or the school an e-mail - they'd probably be your best contact for accurate answers.

    Help me out if possible!

    Thanks!

  2. there going to have practice before school starts and if your not in shape its going to get hard

  3. Its gonna be rough, A lot of people that play in college are good players and in shape.

They are serious about the game.

So yea you'll probably have a required mile time.. around 6 minutes.. and a 2 mile time around 12 and a 3 mile around 19 or 20.

Get in shape and make sure you can play at that level first

  4. who knows im just not in to sports

  5. it begins in the 3rd or 4th day of school because it will get cold later in the winter and they practice for 2 hours, the coach can get mean by making you ran about 5 laps around the soccer field or do 30 push ups or something like to get ready for tryouts start running for about 15 mins a slow jog but not to slow, start lifting some wights and you'll make that tryout

    good luck man :)

  6. If you wanna play division 3 in college, usually you contact the college coach in junior or senior year and it kinda goes from there. They might want to see videos of you playing, contact your HS coach, etc. I'm not sure how it works if you don't play the sport in your high school.

Or when you get to school freshman year, contact the coach and express your interest in trying out for the team. Make sure you're in shape and ready to go!

Colleges also offer club sports. So, if you don't make the team or are looking for something less intense than a division 3 sport, you should definitely consider a club team. You still play other colleges in the nearby area, but the games and team practices are not intense. I think you practice like twice a week.

Additionally, you can look into intramural soccer where you just play other soccer teams at your school.

    Hope this helps!

  7. I did not know there was soccer being played at division 3 schools.

  8. I'm fourteen and I practice with the olympic developement program and let me tell you, after some practices I took an ice bath. After some, you feel like c**p and just lay there for an hour. It gets rough, so you need to be in great shape.

tryouts would be before school starts, practices probably two hours long
