  1. Hello! I've lived in College Station all my life. It's a pretty nice city. Very tradition oriented. You might want to look up the history of the university, especially the bonfire. We have a sister city which is Bryan. The people here tend to be pretty conservative, but there is a growing artistic movement. Look up downtown Bryan on the internet. It's a pretty neat place. Because College Station is a college town, it's ever growing in population and business. The job opportunities here are great. We are about an hour and a half away from Houston, which is the closest big city around us. Austin is two hours away and Dallas and Fort worth are about three hours away. We are surrounded by a lot of nice, smaller towns such as Navasota, Riesel, and Brenham. We are located right near Washington on the Brazos which is the "birthplace of Texas." It's very nice there. We are also home to the George Bush Library. I haven't been there since I was a kid, but I here it's pretty interesting. We have the MSC Opas which features many ballets, broadway plays, operas, etc. Anyway, it's a pretty neat place here if you know where to look. Good luck!
