  1. Actually, they aren't any more "advanced" then other colleges and/or universities. They just have more prestige associated with the name. They're "legacy" schools whereas other universities and colleges aren't. People majoring in law learn the same thing at Harvard as they do at any other college or university.

  2. In most cases, there's not a big difference.  Sometimes, they could even be learning slightly less. . . it's just like comparing any other two respected universities.  Some are better in certain areas than others are.

Ivy leagues just have huge name recognition.  In large part, you get this simply by being old and therefore have a long history of providing a good education.  If you aren't doing a good job, you could go out of business due to lack of interest. . . and they've survived a long time, so there must be at least some quality there.  Perhaps the name lets them attract more top faculty. . . an ambiguous term in and of itself since there are many ways to be a great professor -- many of which have nothing to do with teaching ability. . . but maybe it doesn't.

  3. well actually they may be advanced in america, but ur college system is only the equivalent of our a-level and one year of uni here, uk university level is above that of us college, it wud be like u taking a masters. so i wudnt think they are learning much diff than the rest of u, its just  they have the elite high school students or shud i say richest
