Question:

College after the Military

I'm looking for someone that has joined the military and then gone to college after getting out. I'm for sure going to college and military so I'm just exploring all the possibilities before I commit to a plan. So if I went with this plan here I would most likely join for the minimum time, get out and go to college. My main concern is if a college would except me after being out of high school for a few years. I'm not going to Ivy league but also not community college, I going somewhere in between, think something like Minnesota grade wise.

  1. eh, community colleges arent so bad.  after all, the people who insult them probably never went to one....and to teach college you have to have at least a masters, preferably a doctorate...so, i don't see whats wrong with comm. college.  anyway, i know this doesn't answer a single question, but i just wanted to tell my opinion.

  2. College after the military is no problem. In fact, your application looks better with military service on it. Your only worry is will your test scores be current enough? The military allows you take the SAT and ACT for free. Some military training is good for college credit. Take some classes while you're still in the service. Those credits can transfer and the military will pay for part of it.

  3. I have not gone that route, but ill tell you now, it is a lot better to do college first then the military. If you do rotc you are commissioned as an officer when you get out of college.

Also, if you do choose that route, after you get out of the military you most likely wont even want to go to college.
