College application help! which GPA do i list?

I'm filling out a college application and it asks for my current high school GPA. which one do I put down, my core GPA, weighted GPA, or unweighted GPA?

  1. I would suggest you put in the weighted one, but honestly it doesn't matter what you write because they will get everything they need to know about your grades from your transcript.


  2. All the colleges I applied to asked for my GPA 'on a 4.0 scale', which means unweighted.  Once you start to weight GPAs, they are no longer out of 4.0, and everyone's GPA is on a different scale - so it makes no sense to compare them.
