College credit for work experience??

Question

Does anyone know anything about getting college credit for work experience? How does it work? I will be starting my second semester of machining classes at the community college next week but I just got hired to work in a machine shop. I am tempted to drop my classes if I can get college credit for my work experience. I probably wont drop any classes this semester because everything is already all set up but if I can get credit for working I might forget about going back for the spring semester.

Each college has its own requirements for granting credit for untraditional learning experience (learning outside of a classroom).

You need to contact the registrar at your community college and find out what, if any, credit it would be possible for you to get.
