College exam question for a European Civ. Class If you think your up to it give it a shot.?

One characteristic of civilization, as some anthropologists have defined it, is a social structure (“pecking order”) arising from division of labor and specialization of work function (basically, how people earn their living). Using this definition, assess the impact of changing social structure on the history of western civilization from ancient times until about 1700. Be sure to discuss slavery, feudalism, the rise of the unitary nation state, and the Reformation in your answer.

I would love to know how long any one had to answer this in! I am no expert but even so, I would not attempt this question with less than ten hours to do it in and even then three to four thousand years of history over the whole of Europe goes a long way.

The short response,however, is that the changing social structure of western civilisation had no impact on history, it is history and what a pity examiners can not couch their questions in English.
