College financial aid, having a child halfway through semester?

My son is due in October of this year; can I claim independency on my 2008-2009 forms now, or should I wait until the child is born to file to finish my FAFSA?

You can not claim a dependent child who has not yet been born.  After the birth of your child, make the adjustment on your FAFSA and meet with a financial aid counselor.

Dan is wrong.  You can include in the household unborn children in your number in household.  I would  do it now and include him, but you could call your schools fin aid office and see what they suggest.
