College football polls?

I have seen the preseason espn rankings and so, but when do the bcs rankings come out, the ones that count?!

BCS doesnt come out until the 5th week. After they accumilate enough points and they usually wait until week 5. Some teams will have 5 games in others 4 games in.

Historically, the first 'official' BCS poll is released on the Sunday of the 7th week of the season, which this year would put it out on October 12.  This is done because the rankings (especially the computer rankings) can change significantly from week-to-week as teams have not played a lot of games so the 'strength-of-schedule' fluctuates.  The week of the first standings features the 'Red River Shootout' between Texas and Oklahoma as well as two big SEC showdowns between Tennessee at Georgia and LSU at Florida.

Of course the components of the standings are public and can easily be calculated at any time once games have been played.
