Hey, do you know of any college grads accepting minimum wage jobs?

I think it's almost a crime that some companies demand a minimum of 3 - 5 years experience in a certain field... you have to start somewhere. d**n all of you money mongered, you've doomed a generation.

  1. You do have to start somewhere and many times that somewhere is at the bottom. Instead of whining and crying about not being able to start out in the middle or the head of the pack, why don't you <gasp!> earn your way there! Your generation is doomed because you believe everything (including 3-5 years of experience) should just be given to you instead of working for it. You'll have to sell that lame excuse somewhere else man, no one here is buying it.

  2. well this all depends on what degree you graduated with and your GPA, ie if one graduated as an engineer, that is rarely the case as the U.S is short on engineers at the moment. if one graduated with a degree in economics, it understandable that they want work experience for better positions as one usually interns during undergrad get a job for 2 years obtain an MBA and join the workforce with a high salary. and if one graduates with a degree in say native American studies, unless that person peruses a masters or PhD, one's skills aren't' going to satisfy many job requirements

accordingly i know many college grads that have accepted a very wide range of salary including minimum wage, especially if you want to include community college graduates. oh as for the 3-5 years of experience. some thing much more readily applicable with b e computer science i.e programming. companies like Blizzard, want peopel who are seasoned with the workload, peer engagement, intensity and flexibility that is often only gained from work experience. also i think their minimum job experience is around 5-7 years from the job description.
