College help? how do i get a scholarship??

i'm the first in my family to go to american college and neither i nor them know how i'm supposed to get a scholarship. i know i am eligeble for several, but what do i do from there? do i have to apply for them online? or do i can the ones in charge or what?? i am absolutly clueless so pretend you'll explaining this to a five-year-old.

Different scholarships have different rules for application.  Take each one, one at a time.  Arrange them in order by deadline because you have to apply by the deadlines -- the earlier the better.  Find out the rules for each scholarship - you can research it online or call the number provided if one is.  Then turn them in as specified for each scholarship.

If you are already accepted into a school, you can also talk with the financial aid office and they may be able to help you.
