Hey I just started college and I have three classes. A video game design class, Elementary tech math, and comp107. Well I was in learning support classes in high school and I feel like they did not prepare me enough. I am scared that it will take me like 7 hours to do one class and I will not have enough time to do the other classes.

I go only on Tuesday and Thursday.

  1. ARe you saying you need help? All colleges have academic support. They should have tutors in all areas, and a writing lab. Study groups for classes are big in colleges. Ask your teacher where to go for help for class.

  2. Maybe you want to just take 2 classes for now.  Many freshman students take only 6 credits their first semester so that they do not get overwhelmed.  This allows them to slowly adjust to the knew campus, all new instructors/teachers, new students, and the new teaching and grading style.  If you are already feeling this stressed out, then dropping a class may be ideal.

There are also support services for students with disabilities.  These disabilities can physical, mental, or emotional and the college will offer special services to these students.  They can range from having multiple sclerosis (physical) to depression (emotional), or dyslexia (mental).  Even if all you have is test anxiety, they can help you by providing tutoring, letting you take your test in a testing center, reading the questions on exams to you, etc.  Check that out!

    Good Luck!

  3. I'm not sure what kind of homework you have, but I think if you make an effort to manage your time you will do okay.  If you find you are struggling, talk to your instructors about it.  They might be able to give you some advice.  I'm in college, too & sometimes homework just takes up a lot of your free time.  There isn't a whole lot you can do about that.
