I live in the US but thought it might be a good idea to go to college in England (I'm 14 right now). Before I started doing any detailed research I was wondering if anyone had had any thougts like any good schools over there or if I'm just crazy. I know this isn't an exact question I was just wondering what people thought.

  1. Many univeristies in England are highly regarded. As an oversees student you'll be looking at up to £10,000 a year in fees, but then looking at some university fees in the US, this could even be an improvement...

You'll find degrees in the UK are very different though as the system is completely different. I know of several people who, having studied in the UK, got to skip the first year of university in the US because of the differences in standards. And of plenty of people from the US who have come to the UK and couldn't keep up. I don't think SATs and the highschool certificate are thought very much of at all.

If you're interested in comparing different universities, look up The Times university list.

(Don't say college to English people, you'll confuse them; college in the UK usually refers to a sixth form (16-18yrs) college or similar-it's a university. Also, schools are for the under eighteens.)
