Question:

College in Northeast near Ski Resort? Business major?

I am looking for a public university in the Northeast that is something like less than an hour from a mountain or else has easy access (bus or school trips) to one. Even if something is near the catskills rather than vermont. I live in NJ now and going to transfer from a community college in the spring. U of VT in Burlington sounds cool but it is expensive for out of staters ($20 gs tuition)

Thanks for any ideas

  1. uvm or brown. In vermont

  2. uvn, uvh, darmouth, middleberry

  3. Middlebury is a private school and is rather expensive. They take some charity cases and have scholarship money, but it doesn't have a stellar business program either. It's a liberal arts school. It has it's own ski bowl and is also close to Sugarbush and Mad River Glen.

UVM (The University of Vermont..that's Universitas Virdis Montis, or latin for "University of the Green Mountains") is really expensive for out-of-staters. It's a quick drive to Bolton, not a bad drive to MRG or Sugarbush (about and hour) and just over an hour to Stowe and Smuggs. Saint Mike's and Champlain College are also in Burlington.

Castleton State is about 40 minutes from Killington and Pico. Green Mountain College (not public) is just a little further away in Poultney, VT.

Lyndon State is close to Burke. Johnson State is not too far from Stowe and Jay.

Check out all the VT state colleges here.http://web.vsc.edu/

Many offer internships with the ski resorts if you are in business, hotel management, or outdoor recreation programs.

Morgan G has no clue where Brown is. It's in Rhode Island and Brian doesn't even know how to spell the college names correctly. WTF is "UVN and UVH"? I don't like to bash other answerers, but that's just bad info.
