I'm planning on receiving some financial aid from my college and I'm looking for some scholarships. I'm going to take out a loan whatever I can't pay but what if I don't have money to get a meal plan I'm doing this on my own my parents aren't going to be supporting me . Any ideas I'm stressing out?

  1. Meal plans are typically included in the tuition.  Double check with your admissions office.  After you consider all of your options from your school's financial aid office, a private student loan may be a viable option for you.

If you do not have enough credit to get approved for a private student loan on your own, a cosigner is an option.  Whether that be your parents, grandparents, or a freind; your cosigners may be removed from all obligation after 48 months of on-time payments and an evaluation of your own credit.  Payments may be completely deferred until 6 months after graduation.

  2. Most college financial aid packages will provide enough in the form of grants/scholarships/work-study/loans for you to cover all of your costs.  This would include tuition and fees, housing, meals, books, etc.

You won't be rich by any stretch, but you should be able to get enough in aid to make sure you cover the essentials.

    Good luck!

  3. khk

  4. What you can do to save money is:

Not eat out, it's like $8 a meal at a fast food place

Buy food at Costco, lots of deals, 200 corn dogs is like $3

Make your own meals the old fashioned way

Steal food from your room mate, thats what mine does to me

  5. Meal plans are usually part of the tuition.

Your fin. aid will go against your parents income

have you filled out the fafsa?

you need at least 675 credit score for you own loan

are you working and supporting yourself then you may be entitled to more....

check you college web sites - they should have tons of infor on fin. aid...etc...and good luck
