College move in this weekend??

Question

im kinda nervous for college starting this weekend. i was kinda quiet and self concious and had no social life in high school, i dont really have anything im good at like sports or stuff like that, i had friends who i talked to in school, but somehow never hung out with outside of it. ill be going to college this fall, virginia tech if u guys r curious, i wanna break free, any advice? i hear college is supposed to be the best time, is that true? i was excited about going out into the world on my own, but the thought of being a semi-loner is draining all that excitement out.

You will acutally be very surprised how well things will probably turn out.  I was almost the same way when I went to school...very nervous I wouldn't have any friends, or wouldn't be involved enough.  But there's TONS and I mean TONS of ways you can get involved to be active  in college (and meet people).  You will probably have to work to break out of your shell a bit, but I can assure you things will be alright.  If you're living in the dorms too, you will instantly know about 15+ people because you all live on the same floor.  It will be hard at first, but once classes start things will ease up.  Just know that you have to go with the flow....keep a smile on your face, and have an open heart and mind...good luck, and stay positive!  College can be the best time of your life, but it's also what you put into it is what you get out.  And dont forget too...you aren't the only one having those feelings right now...almost everyone going to college gets those exact same nerves :)

hiya i felt like that wen i  went 2 college i all i did was join in wiv every1 else and ur soon make m8s cuz i know i did college is a great time i had the best 2 years wen i went  just have fun 2

maybe do something for yourself that brings up confidence in yourself, improve your appearance or get something that you really like.. anything to make you speak up a little more, hopefully it goes well! goodluck [:
