Question:

College room wall decor

I've been lucky this year and have secured MY OWN room in a real house so I don't have to live in the dorms! My last two years of college, I was in the dorms and had a roommate, and I never really could make it feel homey. My walls were always bare almost. I had snapshots and a couple posters, but it wasn't really me. I want to do something different this year, especially for the walls.

I'm thinking about getting fabric and using it as a faux headboard of sorts on my wall, but I'm not sure exactly how to do it without making it look dumb. I was going to purchase some funky throw pillows as well.

I'm also thinking about getting matte boards for behind my snapshots to make them a bit more interesting.

What else could I do to make my room more cozy and inviting, instead of the stark ugliness of dorm colored wall paint?

  1. family and friend photos on your wall or shelf for sure, a lampshade in corner makes the room feel more cozy as well.

  2. www.RockYourWall.com has a lot of cool room accessories like PBTeen for way less money. Colored magnetic dry erase tiles, cork tiles and so much more for a very cool, colorful and functional style tile bulletin board!
