-So I started college today

-My second class is Spanish 2B-Spanish for Comm.

-When I signed up for it I didn't know that there was a prerequisite

which is I had to of passed a placement test.

-Well I am still enrolled in it, but I also just enrolled is Chicano and Latin American Studies and I am 3rd on the waiting list.

-I signed up for it because I'm afraid that I am going to get dropped from

Spanish since I didn't take a placement test

-I HAVE to, I NEED to have 12 units b/c of a scholarship I received.

Is it too late to take the Spanish placement test???

Should I just drop it and wait and hope that I get into CLAS???

HELP. I'm literally crying because I don't know what to do. :[

 1. Talk to your counselor, but unless a language class is a requirement for this semester, as long as you are taking 12 credits, you could drop the Spanish class and pick up ANYTHING else that is still open.

 2. Don't worry. There is a period of time where you can switch classes. You might be able to get out of this Spanish class and take a different class. You could still have 12 units. Don't put that undue pressure on yourself. Talk to your adviser/guidance counselor and let him/her know your situation. If today is your first day, I'm sure you still have time to switch classes. It's better if you go this route and get some assistance from the college instead of stressing out all semester long. You might even be able to check on your college's website to find out what the policy is for changing classes once they start. I will be praying for you that everything goes ok when you talk to the adviser. Best wishes. Let us know how it goes!

 3. Talk to an academic advisor first thing in the morning. Perhaps you can take the placement test tomorrow, and not have to drop it. It will work out, it always does.....good luck in school, remember, when you have a question ASK an advisor or professor, they are there to help you!!!! (college professor)

 4. Go to your adviser immediately. I cannot answer this with any knowledge because I do not know your universities procedures.
