  1. Look around dont rush into buying a car . Alot of places have 0% Interest for up to 60 months on new cars.

Depending on your Credit Score and how much you have for a down payment , will show in how high or low your monthy payment will be . Remember you also need Insurance on a car .

If you go for a used car ,alot of places have Certified vehicles . Meaning most cover repairs for the Engine , Transmission basically all major parts of the car.

Again think before you buy , you might end up getting something you will not be able to afford in the long run .

  2. First figure out a budget and see how much you can afford. THere are car payment calculators all over the place. Then, try and get a loan. You might need a cosigner. Once you've got a loan, go buy a car! Easy :-)

  3. Don't buy from a car dealer - I cannot say that enough.  A $4000 used car will be sold by a car dealer for $9000-$10000.  Don't do it.

Find a bank that will loan you money for a private car purchase.

http://www.craigslist.org is your friend for buying cars.  The only way to be sure you're getting a good car, is to have it inspected by a mechanic prior to purchasing.
