I have just finished rereading Tuesdays with Morrie by Mitch Albom. This book was required reading of all incoming freshman at my university, and now having recently graduated, I took it up again. The last page of the book caught my eye and although I don't have the book handy to deliver the text verbatim, I will try to sum up what the next to last paragraph said.

Have you ever had a teacher who noticed you when you were rough around the edges? And through their guidance, you were polished to a brilliant shine?

This text has made me so homesick for certain professors. I was wondering if any of you had a Morrie in your college life that was your professor, friend, and mentor.

Please feel free to share your stories.

  1. I haven't....which is exactly why I wanted to go into the teaching field. I read that book a few years ago, and I realized that throughout my life all of my teachers never really paid too much attention to me. They didn't care, so didn't care about them. A harsh and cruel cycle, that I decided to stop. So here I am working at a Title I school, and having the time of my life. I may not have had a morrie in my life, but I'm trying to be a morrie to my students.
