I am 17 years old and just finnished 11th grade. I plan on swimming for college but i don't really know what to expect. (i still have my senior year to swim and plan this out)

I mean, will i need to stay at a dorm, near campus to swim in the morning? should i expect morning swim, land prac and then a afternoon prac? Would i be able to work a job with school and swimming?money is a little tight, i mean academic scholarships will be there, but the dorm is going to destroy me heh. im a little worried (understatement) about all of this stuff. I understand that every college is different in what there workout stuff is, but i would just like some reassurance from ppl who know. Saint leos is close enough to where i wouldn't have to live in a dorm (25 min away) n my older bro goes there, but then would i miss out on college experience?

  1. You should ask Coach Sage these questions, particularly when his workouts are and the ability to swim and hold down a job.

Personally I would suggest living in the dorms, at least freshman year.  It will make the transition from high school to college easier, allowing for greater socialization and interaction with your peers.  Living on campus will also allow you a more flexible schedule.  You won't spend as much time commuting and you'll be able to easily go 'home' to pick up work clothes, take a quick nap between classes, etc.  After your freshman year you should have a better idea of whats feasible and what is the best plan of action.

    Good luck.
