SO.. I just graduated high school, i have no credit and won't have a job until maybe august if things go right. I have already filled out financial aid and am only receiving like $4,400 from that.. The tuition for my cosmetology school is $12,000. any one have any suggestions for me? I really need some help I would have loved to start my class in September. My family is going through a tough time right now.. my mom is out of work on disability and can barley pay the bills, while my dad has no job at all. They can't help me.. I'm on my own for this one.

  1. Have you try to get a scholarship? Maybe you can go to

    http://all-about-scholarship.com

    it's about scholarships/grants information.

    Good luck

  2. You can apply for scholarships or bank loans, but since you don't have credit, scholarships might be your best bet. If there are government aid in some states/provinces, you can apply for that as well. For example in Ontario, there is OSAP, where the provincial government loans money for university/college students interest free until you graduate.

    US scholarship website: http://www.studentawards.com/english/us/...

    Canadian scholarship website: http://www.studentawards.com/

  3. Loans, grants, scholarships, you know the drill for those.

Otherwise, get a job and work for a year. Most people i know including me do that.

Also some uni's let you delay your payments. I've known some who delay all the way to graduation. you just won't get your certificate until you pay up.

  4. Keep applying for scholarships and loans.

http://www.simpIetuition.com is a good one to try.

  5. Apply to as many scholarships as you can. Many scholarship applications can be lengthy so you'd better get started as soon as possible

  6. The best thing right now is to start applying for scholarships. If that 4400 includes your grants already, you've already received the max for federal funding. Go to PHEAA.org to help you find scholarships that you would qualify for.
