i mean, they only play FOUR GAMES outside of victoria this year. 4. 18 are in Victoria. thats just crazy, the crows play more than double that amount out of south australia. WHY does the AFL give Collingwood that sort of advantage??? and they STILL can't win any premierships! LOL

  1. Its because Eddie is in Andrew Demetrious lap...its obvious!

  2. Nice try Ax.

The reason Collingwood (and Essendon AND Carlton) get so few away games is because the draw is gerrymandered so that these three teams can play each other twice every year no matter how well or badly they're doing based on the premise that the AFL want "super" games (and far be it from Team Eddie to disagree as they are so advantaged through this decision...they even had Eddie seeing they got all the Friday night action wqhen the football was on on Channel Eddie).

Of course, if Hawthorn or Geelong or any other team sitting on top were given the ANZAC Day or Dreamtime or any other big match and the AFL spent as much time and money promoting these teams they too would attract a capacity crowd.

This leads to the rubbish draw we now have and Collingwood not wanting to cross the street without the AFL holding its' hand.

But Eddie is now being magnanimous and offering to play heaps of games on the Gold Coast to help "establish" the code in that venue.  That would mean they could play their 18 Games at the MCG and their other four games (against those nasty interstaters) at the same venue on the Gold Coast thus limiting themselves to only TWO venues and also helping Collingwood establish their own broader membership base up against the GC team.

Gee, he's a GREAT guy for FOOTBALL isn't he?

    NOT!

  3. Its because they need to cheat because they are so c**p that they cant even win a premi (like you said).

Its just retarded that they get that unfair advantage, but let them have it, we (ever club but the pies) are far more superior so we can give them a little head start.

  4. The AFL set the draws out and they are money grabbing piranha's,   what you say is right but i think the AFL is the main culprit, collingwood are never going to say, no we want to play more games outside Victoria,  they used to say it would even it's self out but it never has, last year we played 3 from 4 games outside Vic. and we were struggling on field and that didn't help one bit.

'it's the way of the footy world' it won't change.

  5. Yes, they may get home sick but never suffer from travel sickness!!

When the AFL sold the TV rights to CV7 they also sold their soul. Collingwood play nearly every Friday night - at home. Just  to please Eddie & some big spending sponsors.

M M hit it directly on the head with his comments.

  6. its simple maths 10 teams in victoria

    2 teams in adelaide

i suppose if crows&port were in a GF you would want them to play at aami

    not gonna happen

if we couldnt fill every  ground every time we played

they would send us to the butt crack of the world (adelaide)

only ground in adelaide seats 50.000

  7. I agree with you.

But Eddie & Mick are the first to whinge when things dont go exactly as they want them to. Edire & Mick mustr be drearding the day whwen the two exra teams enter the competition -  one may take over from the Magpies as the AFL's favourite!

  8. WILL YOU ALL JUST LEAVE COLLINGWOOD ALONE! its not up to them where they play, its the AFL's decision. and at least collingwood has won premierships. some of your clubs will NEVER win one.

  9. LMAO, good question, i noticed at the start of the season that they only to travel 4 times interstate but i just had a giggle to myself cause it happens every year and at the end of the day it does not seem to be an advantage not to the colliewobbles!!! Go port

  10. the fact you ask such a stupid question shows the mental capacity of sth australians
