Question:

Collingwood vs Fremantle last night. Was that the worst game for the season?

Collingwood only kicked eight goals for the match. That from a team

playing finals football next week. It just goes to show how they

have been so looked after by the AFL that when they

had to travel they couldn't handle it.

That was the worst standard game I have witnessed

this year.

  1. I didn't watch it - looks like my decision to do the housework was the right one after all!!

  2. Laurie n had the right idea of the game his discription of it was spot on

  3. did it really look like collingwood were trying that hard. im not making it an excuse but i didnt see any hard running from them at all

  4. Ha... Freo had 24 fit players to pick from......The pies traveled interstate 3 times this year i think ........frankly im glad the pies lost, they looked disinterested from the start..freo 's lost 8 games this year under 10 points if 4 of those games went the other way they would be in the eight......freo will be a totally different team next year with seven retirements...im a freo supporter and i have to agree last nights game standard was low by both teams

  5. awww they musta got homesick! poor guys... i mean, they have had to travel ALL around australia so many times this season, and had to play SO many BLOCKBUSTER matches. the afl have treated them rotten, aye. i mean, they expect collingwood to play their best in a friday night blockbuster on the other side of the country?! they're not superheroes!

  6. It certainly was a shocker, but they were a bit short of quality up forward, and it is clear that the wind howling across the ground was something that Freo handled so much better. A couple of times the intensity level went up, but not enough. A great game by Leon Davis.

  7. Let me get this clear ... I NEVER, and I mean NEVER, go to bed instead of watching Friday night footy.  But by half way thru the third quarter the eyelids were flickering randomly, I'd gone into oxygen deficit and I was snoring while I watched through a quarter of my left eye.

Once the random yips kicked in I wandered off to bed three parts asleep but still moving much faster than the game I'd just been watching.

  8. I know this might sound like a crazy response but I seriously believe that Collingwood 'threw' the game last night!! They have been looking at the combination of places in the top '8' after this final round and they very possibly think that ending up in the bottom four is a much better position than in the top 4 (at 4th position) as they would have to meet Geelong in the first round of the finals if that happened!!!! I think the same thing is happening (as I type) between North Melbourne and Port Adelaide. WHO IN THEIR RIGHT MIND WANTS TO MEET GEELONG IN THE FIRST ROUND?????

  9. I agree with you mate, the skill level was absolutely shocking - I have never seen so many consecutive kicks out on the full! I am worried about next week, I'm not expecting much!

  10. yeah that was a shocking match of footy. us spectators want to see free flowing fast high scoring footy. instead of scrappy low scoring stopages everywhere type of football. collingwood need to be let loose and free from the AFL's wing
