  1. http://www.koeln.de/en/tourism/tourism.h...

They have carnival at this time wich is fun to see one of the parades.http://www.koeln.de/en/whatson/carnival/...

Or you could take a boat ride. Most of it you can walk.

    Museum of Chocolat

The private "Schokoladenmuseum" located at the banks of the Rhine provides a sweet interlude and contains everything worth knowing and tasting about he history of chocolate

    Have a great trip

  2. Without a doubt, any visit to Cologne MUST include a stop to Bonn, the capital of the former West Germany. Bonn is about 15 minutes from Cologne and is the birthplace of Beethoven! You can even go to the house where he grew up and see the desk he wrote on. Bonn is a university town, so there are artists, beer halls, and town squares and pedestrian zones. I really enjoy the Bonn Museum of History, which breaks down the timeline of the nation's history in both German and English.

  3. Definitely visit the Cologne Cathedral which is right there as you exit from the railway station. Also the museum which is on the right side of the cathedral has wonderful exhibits from the Roman era of the city when it was called " Colonia " . There is the remnants of a mosaic floor that they found from that era and the museum is built around this. As you exit from the railway station look to the right for the Information Office ( Verkehrsamt / Fremdenverkehrsamt ). The people who work there will speak several languages including English and they will be able to give you a map and advise you of the best way to spend your day.

  4. Go see the Dom, the river, and their modern art museum (right next to the Dom)

  5. Go see the Koelner Dom!!

  6. Kölner Dom has to been seen-Dreikönigsschrein or The Shrine of the Three Kings. It takes some time to see the church and get up to the roof.

Try a bakery (Apfelküchen-apple cake is my favorite) and get a sausage from a street vendor if this is your only stop in Germany.

Be sure to get a good look at the Rhine. Köln is on both sides of the river.

If there is a girl with you-Schokoladenmuseum (Chocolate Museum)

Maybe get a bottle of 4711 if you need to bring back a gift.

Amsterdam is one of the best cities in Europe. Have fun there!
