Colonel Naushad Ali: Three foreign names short-listed to coach Pakistan – Cricket News Update
Pakistan cricket team’s associate manager Colonel http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Naushad-Ali-Rizvi-c78868 has revealed that the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has been given three names of foreign coaches and any one of them will now be taking charge as head coach.
Naushad was also a member of the committee, which was formed by the board in order to hunt a new coach. The chairman of the committee was former player and team manager http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Intikhab-Alam-c64380.

According to sources in the PCB, 12 foreign and 25 local coaches had applied to fill the vacant spot left by Waqar. However, the committee has short-listed three foreign coaches out of the total applicants.
According to Naushad, “We are close to finalising the new coach of the Pakistan team. We have short-listed three candidates and now it is up to the PCB to negotiate the financial terms and their availability. All the three names that have been forwarded
are from outside Pakistan.”
Pakistan cricket team is currently hosting a complete series in UAE against Sri Lanka. Both teams have started the series with a drawn Test match, which appeared to be in the grasp of the hosts for most of the five days.
According to Naushad, the team played extremely well in the first match of the series, but dropped catches ended the match in a draw. He added, “We played well in the first Test. Out of the 15 sessions we must have dominated more than ten but still http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sri-Lanka-c758
managed a draw. We cannot deny the fact that [Kumar] Sangakkara batted beautifully. We dropped crucial catches but we took good ones too. Ultimately the catches made the difference.”
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mohsin-Hasan-Khan-c77595 is currently with the team in UAE as an interim coach. He will stay with the team until a new name is finalised for the vacant post.
Although no names have been revealed yet, one thing is certain that Waqar’s successor will not be a local person.
