Question:

Colonial Toddler Costume?

I signed my son up for our town's annual baby contest and the theme is "Stars, Stripes and Patritism". We signed up for the last slot and assigned him to dress up as a Son of Librerty. Now I need a costume and I really want to make it myself. But I can't seem to find any patterns for a toddler. He is 18 months and by the time the festival in Oct he should be at 24 month- 2T size clothes. Where should I look for patterns????

Thanks a bunch!

  1. something like this? you could make it in red, white and blue!

    ath=132&products_id=3123&zenid=15a479b...

    I see that is not found.  Go here and scroll down:

  2. I shop the patterns at Fabric Stores and Wal-Mart... Hancock Fabrics will have a selection.  Whether or not they will have a specific pattern or not is unknown. A 'tux' pattern for toddlers may be a challenge.  The hat...may have to be pieced, too.

    Good luck with your project.

  3. Hey, I found this one on ebay that might work. It's Butterick 3904

    Here's a suit pattern from Butterick you might try.

    Here's the pattern for men that may inspire you. I think Butterick is on sale for a dollar at Jo Anns today too.

    What do you think? BTW, check me out on pattern review, I posted like 5 dresses I've been finishing over the past week. Such fun.
