Color/Black and white?

Question

Ive seen many pictues that are black and white

but there are parts of the picture that has color.

How do you do it????

they are hand painted after they are developed.  They turn out awesome with a hefty price tag.

Color focusing can be done in some cameras (I think I've only seen it done in an Olympus Camera with a true Olympus XD card)

Most of the time you take the picture in color, then put it into a photo-editing software.  You then crop out the parts of the picture you want in color then turn the rest of the picture black and white.  Then you'll just layer the original colored pictures back where they are supposed to be.

Download a free program that will help you accomplish this, like paint.net

Save your pic under 2 seperate file names, example: me_1 and me_2

Open me_1 with paint.net

Go to Layers > Import from file

Choose me_2 and click "open"

(the 2 files will now be on top of each other)

Go to Adjustments > Black & White

(the top layer will now be b&w, but the bottom

pic will still be in color)

Now...Erase whatever you want from the b&w pic, showing

the colored part underneath.

I like to "zoom" into the pic and use a small eraser size, which makes it look more accurate.

Once you get the hang of this program, there are easier ways - but this is definitely a good starter way :)

Now all you have to do is save the pic (you can choose to save it as a jpeg) and you're done!

If your cam. is one of SD series or advanceds Canon P&S camera then you can do that with '' color accent '' feature.

on most picture editing programs thers a thing that you can go to that usualy says black and white tint. then you can pick the colour or colours you want.
