I am having difficulties in figuring out the color scheme for my Oct 2009 wedding. I Love the fall themed wedding idea, but im not too keen on the colors that would incorporate the fall theme as bridesmaids dresses. I fell in love with a dark purple color, but am still stuck on the fall theme!! Any suggestions on if dark purple would be a good fall color to go with and how i could incorporate the fall theme with that color as my BM dresses.

Also how can i make my MOH stand out without a drastic change. I dont want my MOH to have a different dress or even a different color dress, i just want her to stand out a lil more so poeple know that shes the "head honch" in my bridal party?? Any suggestions??

  1. The fall idea color idea is a fantastic idea,i was ready to do that for my wedding as well. The dark Purple would be gorgouse for the bridesmaid dresses,I wouldnt go to much purple though just choose some colors te compliment eachother. & You could do the table cloths a warm dark chectnut color with a golden lace strip down the middle and a nice arangment of dark colored flowers in the middle.I think your dress should be bright pure white,It would deffinatly Stick out and look beautiful in the photos. Another good idea for bridesmaid dresses would be a dark almost chocolate color,You cold also do Maroonish/Redish color table cloths. And For anything always use a hint of dark red, its falls most lovable color and makes the setting seem romantic. Well good luck! If you have any other questions then please contact me:)

  2. Instead of trying to put the dresses in dark fall colors use paler shades of fall colors. Lighter shades of purple,

yellow and orange. Have your MOH where a Fall

corsage with Autumn colors. Accessorize with Autumn

jewelry and the Best man and groomsmen can where

Fall bootineers.(sp?) Decorate the tables with pastel Fall

colors and use Autumn candles. Congrats on your

    wedding.

  3. Actually dark purple is the opposite of a deep reddish orange on the color spectrum so any rich oranges and gold tones would look fabulous with dark purple for a fall wedding. You might want to go a little more towards a middle tone of purple for napkins or table linens so they don't read as black against a lighter color, though.

To make the MOH stand out, I would either add a sparkly pin to the center front of her gown or a tiny one at the base of each strap, if that is the dress style. Also, I would add a color of flower to her bouquet that the other bridesmaids don't have in theirs. It wouldn't take much to subtly distinguish the MOH from the other bridesmaids.

Congratulations on your wedding!! : )

  4. Dark purple, especially eggplant, actually works very well with fall colors!  Use it with deep dark oranges, reds, golds, browns, some dark green in the foliage (ivy, etc.)  You can have gorgeous fall leaves incorporated into the table decorations - there are MANY silk options to choose from for those.   As for your MOH, have her carry a slightly bigger or different bouquet than the bridesmaids, or have their hair done the same style but hers done differently, etc.  You really don't need to worry about that much - she'll be the last of the wedding party (before you of course) to come down the aisle, and will stand next to you holding your bouquet for you so everyone will already know who she is.  How fun!!
