Color blindness in the coast guard (specifically gunners mate)

Question

I am 17 and have good grades and scored very well on the asvab. I want to be a gunners mate for the US coast guard...but I am legally color blind. Is there any chance for me at all (don't worry my hopes aren't up) of becoming a gunners mate. And are there jobs at all in the coast guard that dont require normal color perception? (once again...my hopes arent up)

There are only a handful of rates that you can be color-blind.  I'm sorry to say GM is not one of them.  You can call a recruiter to get a complete list.
