Color drabber? pleaseeeeeee help.?

okay so my hair has more red tones then i like, so i was going to use a color drabber such as: http://www.sallybeauty.com/Unred%20Hair%20Color%20Drabber/ARDELL17,default,pd.html . i was just wondering how you apply it? do you put it in your shampoo or do you put it directly on your hair? what do you do.. please helppp and only give me answers you know are right, tyyyy [:

get a semi permanent color and add it to that... using this to rid the red orangy tones... get a color that has natural in the name that will clue you in to that the base is of equal parts of all base colors will will help in neutralizing red tones...
