is not decided yet. I like blues but don't really think that's a dining/kitchen color... Any ideas? I'm not afraid of color!

P.S. the china in the cabinet is yellow with all kinds of colors(Wedgewood India)

  1. If there is a connecting wall that goes straight through both rooms then a nice touch would be to paint it all the same color.

  2. play around with the Sherwin Williams color visualizer to find colors that you like. It is the best paint visualizer on the web, imho. I like how their color palette is laid out, I like that you can search by color family & color name, the "painted" rooms look the most realistic, and it suggests coordinating color schemes. You can literally spend hours:

I think an orange like "yam" (# 6643) would look great with the yellow.

  3. Colour should flow from one room to t'other so yellow to blue is too strong.

so mix  blue and yellow to get a greeny blue and you will find that it is soft to the eye

  4. try the ralphlaurenpaint.com room tester- i'm not sure if this will show up but here is a link i thought these colors looked nice- drag the color you choose over to the wall and see how it looks. pick the kitchen room- then go down and select- ISLAND BRIGHTS and you will see nice yellows- put yellow on one wall and then play with the other colors until you decide what works - I thought the Kayak Yellow (simialr to your yellow i think) and the Spinnaker Blue or the Agean Blue or the Blue Reef colors looked nice with yellow- this is how i decided what to paint my house- and the ralph lauren paint is true to it's color and quality standard.
