Color of mallards male & female

Question

i have a 3 month female mallard im trying to find her a male,but the males heads arent all green and no white ring around the necks,does this mean that they havent matured enough or are they high breds,the females are all brown with alittle patch of green on their wings??

you`ll see the green on there heads soon,the white ring will show up a little later..
