Color walls with fabric and starch??

Question

i have a few questions and if you know the answers that would be AWESOME!

1. wash the fabric or not before you put on the walls?

2. spray walls or fabric directly?

3. will red fabric bleed onto white walls?

4. doesnt starch attract bugs and rats?

5. and do i do one BIG piece or tons of little ones...i want it to look nice and im only doing one wall.

any other suggestions or tips would be greatly appreciated! thanks guys!

If you're unsuue of color fastness, wash first.

Put the lengths in a bucket of liquid starch, and wring out slightly.  Not entirely.

Personal choice.  It will look like wallpaper if one piece.  It will look like a collage if more. Remember you will need multiple strips to cover a wall, and you will have to match pattern from strip to strip, just like wallpaper.

One BIG hint. Put lots of towels on the floor to absorb the excess starch. Won't stain, but will get flooring wet
