Colorado's red dirt?

I was wondering since the some of the soil in colorado is red it must contain iron oxides. If so what percentage of the soil is iron? Thanks

Yes it does contain iron oxides.

No one can tell you a percent without running a sample through x-ray diffraction or another analytical method.

There is no set percentage and it may vary from location to location. There is no way to know without testing though someone may be able to cite an estimate, I am not enough of a pedologist to do so.
