Colorado Rockies floor Los Angeles Dodgers 3-2 – MLB Recap
The Colorado Rockies defeated the Los Angeles Dodgers 3-2 in the third and final game of their three-match regular series encounter on Sunday, June 3 at Coors Field in 2012 Major League Baseball season.
This was the decisive game for both teams in their three-match regular series but the Rockies proved more determined in the end and won with style.
Starter Alex White was the main man behind who literally won the game for the Rockies. He pitched 6.2 innings and allowed only two runs and two hits. His consistent ERA of 5.60 proved certainly helpful for the Rockies who despite started poorly in the game,
won it in the end.
"That's the best game he's pitched since he's worn a Rockies uniform. He was terrific," Colorado manager Jim Tracy said. "He broke bats, got ground balls. A lot of what you saw today is what is capable of coming out on a regular basis once we get to that
point."
Rafael Betancourt also played well for the Rockies and pitched the last inning with perfect accuracy.
"Here in Denver, sometimes you never know. I started looking at that ball and I was watching Carlos and when I saw him kind of slow down and get to the warning track, I said, "OK, that ball is in the park." Rafael Betancourt said on his great outing.
On the other hand, the Dodgers starter Nate Eovaldi could not save the game for his team. He was too waivered on the mound and pitched some poor spells. Allowing three runs and five hits, he also received two earned runs.
Overall the Rockies kept them under pressure but somehow the Dodgers still managed to steal two runs in the seventh innings and gave their opponents slight surprise.
However, the Rockies kept their calm and never allowed any further loop holes to the Dodgers which eventually turned into a balanced victory.
In the meanwhile, the Dodgers despite losing this game and the series, they are sitting quite comfortable at top position in the National League West Division with 33-21 win loss and .611 winning percentage.
